Willie Jones
Mr. Jones is a Senior Vice President and Director of The Community Builders, Inc. He has been employed at The Community Builders since January 1986. In his present capacity, he is responsible for developing and overseeing all the new real estate related business in the New England, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions for The Community Builders. He brings a particular expertise in assessing and executing HOPE VI and other complicated large-scale mixed income housing developments. Mr. Jones will be responsible for initiating all new business opportunities in each region of the organizations geographic footprint and establishing working relationships with key partners and local leaders.
Mr. Jones has directed TCB’s efforts with respect to several large scale revitalization efforts in several cities, including Louisville, KY (the 125 acre Park DuValle neighborhood with approximately 1,015 units of mixed income housing), Cincinnati, OH (the City West community with 615 units of mixed income housing and 20,000 sf of commercial space), and Durham, NC (leveraging the impact of 425 units of mixed income housing to achieve the revitalization of a 96 block area).
Mr. Jones is a 1974 graduate of Brown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology concentrating and Urban Planning. Before joining The Community Builders, he was an assistant to the Dean at the College of Engineering of Northeastern University, and served on the faculty at Tufts University’s Urban and Environmental Policy Program, and the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning’s Professional Development Institute. He also served on the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Board; and has received multiple awards for his housing and community work. |
