| Committee on Arts, Film, Humanities, and Tourism, which shall concern itself with the encouragement of the arts and humanities, including cultural development, museums, performing arts, film and filmmaking, public art, art education, the support and funding of private art and cultural amenities, and opportunities to display and/or present art works. The committee shall also concern itself with the promotion of visits by individuals and convention groups, development of programs where city agencies encourage tourism and best display city assets to visitors, and development of recommended legislation and/or other actions to make the city a welcoming place for visitors. The committee shall exercise oversight with respect to the Boston Art Commission, Boston Arts Lottery Council, Boston Film Bureau, or its successors, Midtown Cultural District, and Office of Arts, Tourism, and Special Events. |
