BCYF Programs & Events

BCYF provides a variety of programs and opportunities to enhance the quality of life and meet neighborhood interest and need for all Boston residents. BCYF operates a network of 29 community centers, 19 pools and one beach to provide a wide range of affordable activities including school-aged and adult education, family literacy, high school equivalency exam preparation and testing, youth employment, violence prevention and intervention, senior activities, recreation and enrichment.

  • Exam and Pencil (75)

    HiSET Exam Testing Information (formerly the GED)

    The new HiSET Exam (formerly the GED) for Massachusetts High School Equivalency is now in place.  This new exam is computer based (taken on a computer) and BCYF is one of the first places in Massachusetts to offer this exam.

    PLEASE NOTE: All registration is online.  There will no longer be registration at the BCYF Administrative Offices.

  • BCYF Draper Pool Reopening Celebration
    Mayor Walsh officially re-opens the BCYF Draper Pool in West Roxbury after a year-long, $3.5 million dollar renovation. The work to the pool and surrounding landscape complements a recent $676,000 renovation to the adjoining park by the Parks Department giving the residents over $4 million dollars of improvements to their neighborhood pool and park.
