Summer

Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) is the City of Boston’s largest youth and human service agency and the lead department for Mayor Thomas M. Menino’s Boston R.O.C.K.S!!! summer programming campaign.  Offered are dozens of neighborhood-based summer day camps and programs for Boston’s young people.  These programs aren’t only a lot of fun; they also keep children’s minds and bodies active over the summer months so they are prepared for the return to school in the fall.  This summer many of our camps and programs will host activities with a recreation, health and nutrition theme.

  • SuperTeens2012

    BCYF SUPERTeens Program

    The SUPERTeens pre-employment summer program, sponsored by SUPERTOURS and BNY Mellon, will offer youth ages 13-14 a high-quality service-learning experience during July and August.  Youth in the SUPERTeens program will have the opportunity to attend weekly professional development workshops, gain hands-on experience by working in BCYF Community Centers and participate in scavenger hunt field trips to Boston’s arts & enrichment institutions.

    Snap Shot Summer Photography Program Now Accepting Applications

    This summer employment program introduces participants to all aspects of photography. Let by a professional photographer the program includes opportunities to conduct “photo shoots” around Boston, visit museums and art galleries, dedicated computer lab time to edit digital photos, weekly personal development workshops led by John Hancock, and the responsibility of serving as a “staff photographer” at various events for Boston Centers for Youth & Families.

    Moakley Park Sports Center

    This program is a full day drop-in program. Children may participate in an array of supervised activities including dance, sports, games and arts & crafts. Preregistration is recommended and space is limited

    Junior Golf Daily Lessons Program

    The Junior Golf Daily Lessons, Group Lessons and Learn to Play programs provide basic instruction in the fundamentals of golf taught by professionals at the City of Boston’s two municipal courses.  Equipment is provided if needed and pre-registration is required.

    Boston Neighborhood Soccer League (BNSL)

    Sponsored by Comcast, Boston Neighborhood Soccer League (BNSL) is a six-week 7 v 7 league that offers young soccer players the opportunity to compete against each other and vie for the citywide championship title. Teams are encouraged, pre-registration is required.

    Camp Joy

    BCYF offers Camp Joy for Boston residents ages 3 to 22 with disabilities and their siblings. The four-week summer camp provides structured, daily opportunities for participants to make new friends, have fun, learn and grow during the summer months.

    Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) is looking for 2-3 volunteers to assist in entering summer participant information into our BOSTrax system. This is a great opportunity to learn data system tracking for youth and family program participation at a citywide level. Please see the flyer for additional information.

    Roll-On T-Pass Program Accepting Applications

    The BCYF/ MBTA "Roll-On T-Pass Program" enables youth participants of summer programs and camps to utilize passes permitting free travel on all MBTA buses and subways when attending organized field trips and activities during program hours. Application deadline is May 24, 2013.  The "Roll-On T-Pass Program" is based on a first come, first served basis. Agencies are encouraged to submit completed applications as soon as possible.
